Naming & Delivery Ceremony for M/V “SITC PENANG” Held Successfully
On December 19, 2020, the naming ceremony of M/V “SITC PENANG” was successfully held by SITC International Holdings Co., Ltd. (SITC International) and YANGZIJIANG Shipbuilding Group Ltd (YZJ Shipbuilding Group). The couple of Mr. Yang Xianxiang, Vice Chairman and CEO of SITC, Mr. Lu Jing, President of Shanghai Maritime University, Ms. Cao Hongfen, Secretary of the Party Committee of Merchant Marine College of Shanghai Maritime University, Mr. Xiao Yingjie, Dean of Merchant Marine College of Shanghai Maritime University. Mr. Ren Letian, Chairman of YANGZIJIANG Shipbuilding Group, Mr. Xiao Senyuan Vice President of SITC Shipping Group, Mr. Lv Zhiqiang, President of Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute, Mr. Chen Keng,Vice President of DNVGL, representatives of teachers and students of Shanghai Maritime University attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Mr. Yang Xianxiang, CEO of SITC and Mr. Ren Letian, Chairman of YZJ Shipbuilding Group both stated that under the background of normalization of epidemic prevention and control, the two sides promote each other and develop together, always maintain a close and good cooperative relationship, and continue to build green, environmentally friendly and smart ships. The development of the shipping industry adds more bricks and tiles. Mr. Lu Jing christened the new vessel for “SITC PENANG”, and Ms. Cao Hongfen, Godmother of the new vessel was invited to break the champagne, blessing her with safe sailing and full-loading all the time.
